I Wish I could Watch

I Wish I Could Fall

We're thrilled to unveil our brand new, unusually for us jazz influenced video-single "I Wish I Could Fall", featuring footage from our recording sessions at Fox Barn Studios. This track is a departure from our usual sounds, giving you a taste of what’s to come before our full 5-track EP "Scribble On a Cheat Sheet" suffused with rock, funk, and folk rock vibes, releases everywhere from September 12th, 2025.

I Wish I could Fall is a celebration of platonic love; feelings from when you're getting to know someone who is kind of perfect for you in every way, but there just isn't that romantic/sexual fire present - but a lifelong friendship is born.

We really hope you love it as much as we enjoyed making it, and get ready for the full EP takeover!

Thank you for watching and listening,

BYs x

EP Uncovered

We can now reveal our coming EP name, cover image and tracklist!

Our new EP, Scribble on a Cheat Sheet is out everywhere on your favourite digital platform from 12/09/2025!

Part A - The @foxbarnstudios Sessions

1. The Stronger You Love

2. Funk 23

3. I Wish I could Fall

Recorded, mixed, produced & mastered by Daniel J. Logan.

Part B - The home recordings

4. Recently Deleted

5. After the Morrow Moon

Recorded by The Blue Yellows, mixed, produced and mastered by Manu Arteaga

As you can see, the cover is a collage of images obtained from various moments and there are lots of smaller images, cymbals and signs around the collage that in some way represent aspects of the band and individual members.

How many can you spot?

After the Morrow Moon

After the Morrow Moon just came out. It's available on Spotify & everywhere else, we'd really appreciate any playlist adds.

The song is a reminder (to myself, but it applies to all) not to put off the little, oh-so-easily taken for granted things that really make life worth living. I, indeed we - hope you like it, ❤️

Recently Reviewed

Our first release since 2021 is out today!

Recently Deleted is on Spotify HERE

and on Bandcamp HERE

The Blue Yellows are dedicating this track to "everyone who has lost someone close to them".

The track is inspired both by the deep sense of loss experienced in bereavement, while also placing these emotions and memories in the context of a disjointed-feeling world where previous foundations are crumbling and disparate voices inhabit the social realm.

On day one of the release, we also have a review in, a really good one, too. Beff writing for The Leopheard says that the track captures "... the raw essence of human emotion" with its intensity and "masterfully crafted" instrumentalistation. We're chuffed about this and really appreciate such a deep-dive.

You can read the whole thing on The Leopheard

The Songwriter Sessions

October 11th, 2021

As part of the opening night of the week-long festival of world class musical, poetry and spoken word; The Words and Music Festival, I performed along with a select few other singer songwriters from the North West, namely the brilliant Sam LyonDayve Dean and Tiki Black who was also joined by top producer and tunesmith, Nigel Stonier.

A couple of the artists mentioned what a wonderful, listening audience we had (as I'm pleased to say is typical of this festival).

Not a bad start.

Back on José’s EP.

A return to José’s studio, this time for more work on his own EP for which I co-wrote the lyrics on this track, having co-written a song we recorded a couple of years ago.

Thanks, José for a couple of your instagram shots, used below.

EP Day 2: Rock Out with your Sock Out.

Updated 05/02/2020

Although recording full drums would be the ideal way to start tracking-proper, time restraints and a keenness from all concerned meant we wanted to get on with it and record what we can in the hours available.
Drummer Dave, myself and producer José gathered at a José’s brand new home studio to record percussion and acoustic guitar tracks.
Recording sessions always seem to throw up some quirky moments... Dave found that zip-tying a pair of José’s socks to his mallets perfected the tone on the wash effect he was aiming for on the ride cymbal.
José and Dave discuss the approach.
