The Sandbach Transport Festival

Many thanks to the talented songwriter, Tim Lee, who also played,
for this photo.
April 16th, 2016

I played a set at the Sandbach Transport Festival ahead of 'guitar' George Borowski and his band.
Freezing cold, though sunny at times, so I went for a couple of improvised guitar things that my numb fingers couldn't quite manage, but hey ho, such is life. You gotta take risks in music and go for it sometimes or rather all of the time!

Nick Bayes and his team did a great job of looking after all the artists, keeping us as warm as possible with coffees and other things in our cosy hospitality area.

Lovely bunch in front of the stage and it was great to see a very good friend I've not seen for a long while.

Perhaps appropriately, I arrived in
town on a state-of-the-art
Arriva Sapphire bus!

May 17th - Lounging with Albert

May 17th saw a new venue for me, The Albert Lounge in Shrewsbury, more a wine bar than a raucous rock-club, although they did a nice line in real ales as well :)
As with any 1st-time, new venue I wasn't sure what to expect, it turned out to be a quiet place where most punters regarded the live music aspect more "background music" to their relaxed conversations, not what I'm used to but luckily they were very polite and the surroundings were lovely, also luckily for me, there were a few friendly faces around. Nick Bayes (a very busy man in music circles not least as regular bassist for Headsticks and Phil Maddocks as well as a regular session player for many bands) was my sound man and driver for the event and my friend Verity Gray not only came along but, as a very talented photographer, provided these great shots from my performance. Have a look at some of Verity's other brilliant shots on her blipphoto site at http://www.blipfoto.com/Snowy5 Thanks Verity!

March 27th - Easter Mini Tour 1. A night of music for The Teenage Cancer Trust

Dayve Dean opens and hosts the night.

A superb evening at a little place with happy memories for me as the launch site for All These Things Right Now. Most importantly, lots of money raised for this great cause. Well done indeed to Louise for organising. All of the artists involved were a joy & it was a pleasure to play my set to the lovely gatherers.
