Video update

 December 9th 2024

We gathered at a favourite place Tom's Tap - the morning after a squally & damaging storm to record the "behind the scenes" shots for an upcoming video for a single, due for release in early 2025.

That time it got messy

From a videoographer's perspective making a music video typically involves days of planning, storyboarding, liaising with different interested parties not to mention countless hours of editing. That's without the shoot itself. However from a musician's perspective, in my experience it's nearly always a fun day out.

For this video shot a couple of weeks ago, we were simply helping out a good friend and talented songsmith Tim Lee make this video for his new single out today "Mess Out of Me" and what incredible fun it was! It is also, by a long way, the shortest shoot I've ever been on courtesy of a great but simple idea.

Top song too - enjoy!

And here's a behind the scenes vid I took (some of which made the official cut)...

A Time to Mime

It's probably still a bit too early for details, but having recorded the track a few weeks ago (see post on 09/10/2022), myself & Dave from The Blue Yellows joined many others for a video shoot which I believe will first be seen in a couple of weeks...

I was a bit early so sat on
this bench with a sandwich &
can of supermarket
espresso

Dave always makes a good entrance

Video Killed a Barbeque Star.

Last night we descended on the location for the first video-shoot for The Blue Yellows   since  'No Tobacco'. The setting was a real-life BBQ at our very own drummer Dave's place with Rob and Ang behind the cameras.
I travelled there with Rob and Ang who, like me both suffer from Social Anxiety,  so normally the thought of going to something like a BBQ could be quite a daunting ordeal. In addition Ang and Rob were both exhausted after full days and I was still feeling ill(!).
Nevertheless our lovely hosts and jovial atmosphere made it a joy, now the real work begins, the endless hours of editing for Rob! Thanks mate!

July 7th - Trees, camera, ACTION!

The band along with a lovely assortment of friends and guests spent the whole day in the woods last Sunday in scorching conditions, though thankfully much cooler under the trees... Not that this was much help to our "extras" who were made to repeatedly run around and dance in the extreme (for the UK) temperatures. It was all in aid of recording a music video, we were in the expert hands of Jamie from Jamie Waddigton Films and his highly able crew Adrew and Elly. It was great fun.
Me between scenes (hence the shoes).

8 yr old Soul had a leading role as the anthropologist.
More about this film later...
