Oxjam nearly Undone!

After an almost disastrous problem caused a last minute change of venue(!), due it seems to sheer incompetence on behalf of Congleton Borough Council. Oxjam quickly relocated to the meeting rooms at The Wheatsheaf, Sandbach.

Dayve Dean débuted his new, as yet un-named but already tight, accomplished-sounding band and managed to take some photos of me between sets!

Oxjam - Sandbach Town Hall this Saturday

I'll be playing in Sanbach Town Hall this Saturday evening along with a host of artists and bands. Free entry from 7Pm but money will be collected for Oxfam.
There will also be other distractions including fair trade goods.
Full details on the Oxjam Blog.

Hanley Gig

I originally stated here that "I ended up headlining at the Unicorn last night" but this is really not being fair to Pete Carney. When I say "ended up" I really mean that it was just the way it turned out...I was there to be supporting with Pete as the headline, but Pete was gracious enough to make it a joint effort with us both swapping over through the night. Thanks Pete, Matt from the Unicorn and everyone who came. It seems I'll be back there sometime in February.

Strange but Nice

As a solo artist you end up doing all kinds of gigs. This was a street party in Crewe and it was very weird playing to toddlers, families and display personnel in between blowing up the odd balloon and watching knobbly knees competitions! .....Ah well, it all helps brush off the stage-fright cobwebs!

"New" Songs soon!

I discovered, or rather rediscovered that my phone has a "sepia" setting and was playing with it and took this self portrait at my shower-room mirror (how vain!). Anyway, quite pleased with it so I'm using it as a background now on my myspace site.

Soon I'll be loading up some old songs onto myspace including some songs which I know some of you who remember my previous incarnation like a lot, such as "Taught" and "The Day I Die" with Applecause plus "Jewel", Back in The Real World" and "Four Horsemen" from a limited edition acoustic EP.

Bank Holiday Sunday

The night was a first in many ways; a fledgling, acoustic Oceans appearance, my first public performance in a loooonnng time, Jason's first time singing (including lead vocals on Starving Billionaire). Thanks for your support if you came, we'll book some proper gigs in the near future as well as low key try-outs like this, Cheers.

Sundays set;

Starving Billionaire
When This Flower Opens
Feels Like Sunshine
Killing Me
The Owl and the Willow

Playing at Crewe Live 08 Fringe Event...

After several million years in the wilderness I'm finally making a low-key return to the music scene at an open mike night as part of the Crewe Rock & Indie Music festival. This will be at the Borough Arms, Earle St, Crewe on May the 25th form 8.30. Myself and Jason Louth from our band Oceans will be performing some acoustic versions of our songs. This will help to dust off the cobwebs and nerves before booking some gigs proper. More details of my musical plans here. Be there or be dodecahedral (preferably both).
